Bishop Eddie Long Declared King (Stop It Already)
First Let me say on the issue of Eddie Long’s sex scandal, if you are not guilty why settle? If you are preaching and teaching faith do you not believe that God will vindicate you? Do you not believe what you preach and read in the word? Now lets talk about the theatrics used to get the people going. A few months ago after the scandal, he was preaching and a woman went up to the pulpit in the middle of the service and handed him a wad of cash. The crowd went wild, he held up the wad, the room got even crazier, and then everyone started going to the alter throwing money.
Now first let me say it was sickening to say the least. It was so obvious it was staged, and it probably was a few ones and the rest strips of paper, that’s an old street hustle trick that you can see on any street corner.. Fast forward to 21012, last week they had a speaker by the name of Ralph Messer, he teaches Hebrew roots of the christian faith. This guy comes on stage and gives the history of his faith and then calls Eddie long to the center of the stage, then he wraps him in a Torah, says some words, then five men lift the chair with him in it into the air, the crowd again goes wild.
After the speaker says some words and they lower the chair, they place him in the middle of the stage, blacked out the lights all over the bldg, with just a spotlight on Eddie long, he’s crying. Its all on the Internet. We have to stop playing church. People are so desperate for something that they go for anything, that is why we need to know the word for ourselves so we know better.
